What We Are?

GongowaeNawae (pronounce Gong-oogo-way-Naway) means “Think of tomorrow”… in our traditional Gola dialect. It’s members and followers are called “Tomorrow’s Thinkers”.

The house is a metaphor for the towns and people in Gbarma district, Liberia. The people need our support, assistance to rebuild what’s left. We need to enhance the social and economic infrastructure of the district.
GongowaeNawae is here to serve as one of the many resources to help coordinate efforts to support its members and citizen of the district living abroad and in Liberia.

Welcome to a place where you read about our work and can help us save beautiful place that once was a tropical paradise.

Our History

GongowaeNawae was founded in 1990 during the heat of civil war in Gbarma Town with the intent to mobilize the people; uplift their spirits during a critical period in the lives.

The organization mission is coordinating and organizing the citizens and friends of the district to work to change the social / economic conditions of the people.

“we all come from somewhere and the roots of that place/somewhere is deeply rooted in us” …elder Oldman Armah.

We are highly obligated, as citizens, stakeholders, members, to look back, give back to the place that made us who we are today. If all 16000 of us can look back or give back to the developing effort, the change will be unimaginable. Our people lives will be changed for the best.
GongowaNawae will serve as medium to unite the people of the district as well as identify resources to help support social and economic development of our people
